Welcome to Juneteenth in the District at Bryant Street!
Come celebrate with us on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 all day! We have partnered with FITDC and many community partners to create a meaningful and special street festival.
Schedule of Events:
10AM: Rise and Reflect Yoga with Britt
Join Britt Daniels of @prophetfitness with a yoga and meditation session to reflect on the history of the day and energize your spirit. This will be a BYOM (Bring Your Own Mat) class. (SIGN UP HERE)
11AM: HIIT with F45 Edgewood
F45 Edgewood DC is excited to offer a bodyweight-based functional fitness bootcamp for Juneteenth in the District! This high-energy class is open to all fitness levels. Our coaches will be available to modify movements and to provide low-impact options. (SIGN UP HERE)
12PM-4PM: STREET FESTIVAL BEGINS

Juneteenth Artwork: We partnered with local DC Artist, Halim Flowers, who created a special commission for our Juneteenth poster. Flower's artwork is titled Love is the Repair, Rations Juneteeth. On March 21, 2019, after serving 22 years and 2 months behind bars, I was released back into society. Since my release, I have worked with Kim Kardashian for her documentary “The Justice Project”, done a spoken word performance with Kanye West at his famous Sunday Service, received the Halcyon Arts Lab and Echoing Green fellowships, and spoken at panels at universities and conferences around the country about the impact of the arts and entrepreneurship to correct our criminal injustice system.
