Gahanna’s Juneteenth Celebration returns for its second year in collaboration with the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival—honoring African American history and culture with an evening of music, dance, spoken word, and community, while opening the door for neighbors of every background to join.
What to expect:
Educate: Learn about the significance of Juneteenth and its impact on American history.
Celebrate: Enjoy performances that highlight Black culture, art, and achievements.
Inspire: Reflect, connect, and take pride in our shared history.
Community: Strengthen bonds and promote inclusivity.
Program Highlights:
• The Game Spot (5:30 PM): Kick off the evening with spades, dominoes, bid whist, yard games & more — you say you can play? Prove it!
• Libation Ceremony & African Drumming honoring the ancestors and those who paved the way
• Dance performances by Dance Elite Performance Academy & the Gahanna Lincoln High School Lionettes
• Spoken word by Valerie Boyer
• Musical performance by violinist Stephen Stringz
• Opening Act: vocal trio Harmony
• Headliner: Eric Rollin & Friends performing The Ego Scout Live
