About this Event
Speculative fiction is a broad genre. Also known as “what-if” books, spec fic changes the laws of what’s real or possible in society as we know it, then speculates on the outcome of these changes. Think sci-fi, fantasy, dystopian, etc!
Our pick for June is Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel, a beautifully woven novel that connects lives across centuries through a mysterious anomaly in time. From a young aristocrat in 1912 to a writer on a moon colony centuries later, each character grapples with loss, art, and the fragile nature of human experience. Elegant and thought-provoking, the novel explores how history, memory, and hope echo across generations.
