Member Morning: Spend some time with our Barnyard friends on Sunday, June 7th!Experience the magic of the zoo before the rest of the world wakes up! We are thrilled to invite our members to an exclusive Member Morning, a special opportunity to see the zoo come to life.
At Ross Park Zoo, we believe that every species has a story, and we're fighting to make sure those stories never end. This morning, you get a front-row seat to those chapters. While the morning air is still fresh, you'll witness our residents at their most active and get a rare "behind-the-scenes" sneak peek at the dedication it takes to care for our animals every single day.
Why Your Membership Matters
This June, we are celebrating our Barnyard animals as the Animals of the Month! While these friendly faces are domesticated species rather than endangered wildlife, your support is no less vital.
By joining us for Member Morning, you aren't just getting an early look at the zoo; you are actively supporting the exceptional care, specialized enrichment, and daily dedication required to keep all of our residents happy and healthy. Your membership helps us share the stories of these incredible animals and foster a deep connection to the living world.
Meet the June Animals of the Month!
Come on down to the barnyard and get an early look at the amazing personalities waiting to greet you:
The Bantam Chicken Flock: See if you can spot Mindy, Bubbles, Blossom, and Buttercup strutting their stuff.
Harriet the Alpine Goat: Say good morning to Harriet, representing a breed famous for its incredible adaptability and roots in the French Alps.
Severus the Flemish Giant Rabbit: Check in on Severus, our "Gentle Giant" who belongs to a historic breed dating back to 16th-century Belgium.
The Pygmy Goat Herd: Watch our high-energy crew—including Pebbles, Mabel, Sweet Pea, Craig, Athena, Zeus, Frodo, Samwise, Merry, and Pippin—as they get ready for a day of jumping and socializing.
The Sheep Flock: Say hello to our wonderful sheep, featuring Batman and Ivy (Shetland sheep), Tank (a Shetland/Jacob cross), and Remy (a Cheviot/Tunis cross). You can learn all about the Shetland heritage breed, which is celebrated by fiber artisans for its soft, multi-colored wool and historic roots tracing back to ancient Scandinavia.
Come say hello, learn about their unique care, and help us keep their stories going! We can't wait to see you there.
