June Meeting: Spring Creek Nature Area (Audiobook Walk)

Celebrate National Audiobook Month with SBC!

Meeting Location: the pavilion at Foxboro Park (2600 N Plano Rd, Richardson, TX 75082)

Parking: Street park along Braeburn Dr. and surrounding streets in neighborhood.

Route Distance: about 2 miles round trip

Trail: fully paved and mostly flat. It runs along a creek for certain parts and is mostly shaded by trees throughout.

Restrooms: there are no bathrooms located in the nature area. The only public bathrooms are located at the park’s trailhead where we will meet/end.

This event will be all outdoors

1. Please check your email/our social media the morning of in case we send out an update for weather. In case of inclement weather, this meeting will be cancelled.
2. Dress appropriately for the weather and remember your sunscreen + bug spray.
3. Remember to bring headphones to listen to your audiobook.
4. Feel free to pack snacks and water to enjoy along the way
5. Dogs on leashes are permitted in the nature area.
6. Please ensure that you are physically able to participate in this event. It is Texas heat...outdoors... walking at brisk-ish pace...

General Meeting Timeline: 15 min of bookish chit-chat and then we will head out for our walk!

Arrival: Please check in using your QR ticket with the SBC host upon arrival.

Want to join without doing the walk? Feel free to bring a blanket and find a nice spot in the park to read! We will be starting/ending at the Foxboro Park pavillion. Please note there will not be a host stationed at the park during the walk though.

Community Guidelines

3 Month Rule: If you RSVP and no-show for three meetings, you will automatically be placed on the waitlist for three months to allow others the opportunity to attend. If your plans change, we ask that you adjust your RSVP here on Eventbrite 2 days before the event, so that we have time to notify any members on the waitlist. Of course we understand that last minute issues will arise without warning, but we ask that you please contact us as soon as possible to let us know. One meeting a month and paid meetings: For the time being, we ask that you attend only 1 free meeting a month. If there is a paid meeting in addition to our regular unpaid events in the same month, you are welcome to attend both.
