Come join us for the convergence of International Day of Yoga, Full Moon and Summer Solstice with a Gāyatrī Vedic Fire Ceremony! You are so welcome.In the study of yoga, Goddess Gāyatrī is the power behind the sun and mother of the universe. She is also the giver of wisdom, protection, and strength. She supports us to access our deepest knowing and illuminates Truth within us.
We will chant the Gāyatrī Mantra x 108 – one of the most ancient and powerful yogic mantras – that is believed to contain the knowledge (Truth) of the universe. It is a yogic prayer dedicated to illuminating our intellect, so that we may gracefully make discerning choices that support love, truth and unity – cutting through fear, illusion and separation. The Gāyatrī Mantra is the giver of bliss, cultivates immense wisdom (of our True Nature), and supports liberation.
This mantra also helps to remove toxins from the body, improves concentration and deeper breathing, dissolves negativity, reduces stress and anxiety, calms the mind and balances the nervous system, while keeping the heart and respiratory system healthy.
Bring your sankalpa (intention) and make offerings and prayers to the fire of wisdom. You will hear stories of Goddess Gāyatrī, and we will utilize the Gāyatrī yantra (yogic sacred geometry) and mudra (yogic sacred seals) to enhance our practice. Participants will leave with an anointment of sacred ash and Ganges water from our ceremony, and prasad – which represents the sweetness of the ritual and the blessings it carries. We meditate on that wondrous spirit of the Divine Solar Light
which shines in every dimension of life.
May that Light inspire and guide our inner vision.
We will explore further translations during our time together.
This offering is centred in the roots of yoga, traditional yoga, and bhakti yoga. Yoga is rooted in the Vedic lineage of Satya’s ancestors.
