Oh you lovely lot… you’ve been waiting patiently for the next slightly bonkers event and here it is…� THURSDAY 12TH MARCH
The volunteers are taking over the centre of the centre (say that three times fast… we can’t).
Why, you ask?
Well… if you were born in the 50s or 60s, brace yourselves for a trip down memory lane…
� We are having a JUMBLE SALE! �
Yes. A proper, old-fashioned, elbows-at-the-ready, if-it’s-on-the-table-it’s-50p kind of jumble.
Back in the day you’d queue outside the church hall, wouldn’t you? Waiting patiently (or not so patiently) for the church warden or someone from the WI in a fabulous wraparound apron to fling open those doors. And then? Chaos. Glorious chaos. Tables piled high. Smocks flying. The occasional strategic elbow. Absolute bliss.
Now don’t panic —
• We won’t make you queue outside.
• We don’t own wraparound aprons.
• And nobody will be shouting “NO PUSHING AT THE BACK!” (probably).
I remember being told, “Stay close and hold these while I rummage!” I was bored stiff as a child… and now? Oh I love a good root through a table of treasures. Funny how life turns out.
� 4pm – 6pm
� Thursday 12th March
� 50p per item (if it’s on the table, it’s jumble!)
Bring a friend. Bring a child to be your official “item holder.” Bring a bag. Bring your competitive spirit.
And because we don’t do things by halves…
� The shop will also be open!
95% of it will be just £1 per item.
(Unless you’re eyeing up something from the prestige range displayed ever-so-elegantly on the lace-edged shelving — very swish, very fancy, individually priced and feeling quite superior.)
It’s going to be nostalgic. It’s going to be chaotic. It’s going to be brilliant.
