Spend a summer evening experimenting with the magic of sunlight in this hands-on, outdoor workshop during our July Third Thursday Craft + Cocktail night. Over the course of three relaxed, creative hours, participants will explore sun-printing techniques using vibrant turmeric-based processes using found materials in the MMAM Gardens. Learn how natural light transforms simple materials into striking, one-of-a-kind prints as you layer botanicals, objects, and patterns to create your own compositions. Students will have the option to experiment with washes of other light-sensitive plant materials, such as cabbage, spinach, blueberries, strawberries.
No prior experience is needed, this workshop is all about curiosity, play, and discovery. We’ll guide you through the methods while leaving plenty of room to experiment and make the process your own. Your registration includes all materials plus a refreshing cocktail from Waterbar Cafe + Provisions to enjoy as you print, sip, and soak in a summer evening by the water.
*Students receive MMAM gallery admission and a 15% discount in the MMAM Shoppe on the day of their class. Participants in this workshop must be 21 years or older.
