A special fundraising event will be held on 7th December at the Carlton Club in Manchester, with doors opening from 7pm. The night will feature a live performance by July Julay and The Mambo Kings, who are flying in from around the world to bring their dynamic blend of Salsa and Bachata.
July Julay, a renowned Dominican-born artist, reached out to the Carlton Club after learning about its potential eviction, wanting to support the iconic venue.
In addition, Chris Cruiks, a Manchester-based DJ and percussionist, will be spinning tracks before and after the live performance, adding his unique mix of Latin beats and electronic sounds. Both artists are donating all profits from the event to the "Save the Carlton Club" fund, with the goal of raising essential funds to keep this beloved community space open.
It promises to be an unforgettable night of music, dance, and solidarity for a vital cause.
July Julay and the Mamboo Kings
July Julay is a Dominican-born Bachata and Salsa singer who has made a name for himself in the UK's Latin music scene, particularly in Manchester where he is now based. His music career blossomed after moving to the UK, where he became one of Europe's leading Bachata artists. His debut album, *Sin Ningún Temor* (2009), earned critical acclaim and led to performances at major events like London's Carnaval Latino and Tottenham Carnival.
July Julay regularly performs with his band, **The Mambo Kings**, known for their energetic live salsa performances. The Mambo Kings, featuring a lineup of piano, percussion, bass, and guitar complement Julay's dynamic vocals, creating an exciting fusion of Salsa and Bachata that resonates with dancers and live audiences.
Julay's music has been featured on radio and TV, both in the Dominican Republic and internationally. He continues to perform across the UK, often headlining salsa nights and Latin music festivals.
