Come in and join us for our monthly Friday task day on the last Friday of the month.
You don't need any previous experience. We'll take you through what we are doing, and why we are doing it, and how to do it safely.
This month, our conservation tasks are going to be:
- Bramble control copse work - Our copse is lovely. It is a part of young woodland in the middle of a wildflower area. There's a lot of this woodland along the Shoreburs greenway. But if we did not control it, there wouldn't be any wild flowers surrounding it.
Succession causes brambles to grow, followed by trees. We need to make sure that species that rely on grasslands are not pushed out. If you want to know more, ask us about our management plan.
- Himalayan balsam pulling - Join this activity if you want to take a walk up the greenway with local legend (now recognised as such by the King himself!) Maria Moore. She's committed to eradicating this invasive species from the local stream. Let's give her a hand.
- Litter picking: The less litter there is the less likely people are to drop it!
The reserve is run by our wonderful team of volunteers. We would not be able to manage without your help. Every act makes the site better. We appreciate all of you.
Our Study Centre has toilets that will be open for use.
