Join us for a meaningful and patriotic community event as we celebrate and honor our local heroes.
On Saturday, July 4, 2026 at 10:00 AM, the community is invited to attend the dedication of the new Veterans Circle Flags of Honor at Mount Angeles Memorial Park Cemetery—the largest cemetery on the North Olympic Peninsula and the final resting place of over 1,200 Veterans.
This special ceremony marks the culmination of the America 250 Veterans Circle Flags of Honor Project, a joint initiative between the Carlsborg VFW and the Michael Trebert Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Currently, approximately 50 cotton “casket flags” are displayed once each year, requiring significant care and handling. Through this project, these flags are being replaced with durable, weather-resistant nylon U.S. flags, allowing for enhanced visibility and more frequent displays—now proudly flown three times annually:
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day (July 4, 2026 – America 250)
- Veterans Day
Each flag is individually sponsored and will feature a gold dedication tag, honoring or expressing gratitude for a Veteran. Together, these flags will create a powerful and lasting visual tribute while strengthening community connection and remembrance. We invite all community members to attend, reflect, and celebrate the service and sacrifice of our Veterans.
