This Fourth of July, Hot Springs National Park is throwing a birthday party 250 years in the making! Hosted in partnership with the Friends of Hot Springs National Park and America’s National Parks, the “Red White & YOU” celebration starts with a free community-led parade and ends with a picnic!
The All-American parade begins at Hill Wheatley Plaza at 9am and will walk through the heart of the park, along Bathhouse Row, towards Arlington Lawn. The parade will follow a timeline through Hot Springs history from a drop of rain falling 4,400 years ago to the present day. Dress as Uncle Sam, a Founding Father or Mother, or simply wear your best red, white and blue! Small, decorative wagon floats are welcome and encouraged!
Following the parade, the fun continues on Arlington Lawn with the “Red, White & YOU” community picnic from 10am – 3pm. Join in on costume contests for children and pets, live performances, face painting, arts and crafts, games, and photo booths. Shade tents, tables, and cooling stations will be set up, and food vendors will be available in the vicinity with ice cream and other food for sale.
