Please message for more information. 902.393.1400Juliano De Souza ‘s riding experience started at a very young age, at the age of 15 he was hired to work for Interagro farm in Brazil. The world’s biggest Lusitano breeder. There he began to learn how to start young horses and refine his dressage education. A few years later he left for California to work with the french Classical trainer Dominique Barbier at Barbier Farm. Following his return from California he pursued his riding career and moved to Massachusetts for 6 months to work for Vitor Silva at Sons of the Wind Farms.
In 2014, Juliano moved to Wellington, Florida where he spent 3 years. He was able to ride world class horses and be surrounded with the best that the horse industry has to offer. There he acquired extensive knowledge about the care and the riding discipline at the very highest level in the world of dressage. In Wellington he had the chance to work for Canadian Olympic rider David Marcus based at Stillpoint farm, at that period ,a world class facility which during the winter season, accommodates Olympic riders like Belinda Trussel, Laura Bechtolsheimer, Tunny Page, and Christilot Boylen, to name a few.
There, he gained extensive knowledge by observing the daily care and riding of their horses. Juliano also worked for Hassler Dressage, owned and operated by Scott and Susanne Hassler, another world class facility which is also the home of Michael Klimke and Susan Pape during the winter season.
During this period Juliano was also privileged to take regularly lessons with Carole Grant, a 1983 Pam American Games Gold medalist for the United States, and also her daughter, MaryAnn Grant.
Juliano has developed an ability to work efficiently with young horses with his patience and calm attitude. He has also achieved a particular interest in helping with sensitive horses or with problematic horses. His approach is to focus on the mechanics of the horse and the lightness on the contact, which in return helps to understand that each horse has his own personality and abilities. He believes that every horse with the right approach and exercise can learn and improve.
Look forward to seeing everyone!
