Ey up! Ciao! 你好! Hola! We are really happy to welcome everyone to Nottingham Cultural Exchange!
Whether you’ve just arrived in Nottingham or lived here all your life, whether you want to practice a foreign language or simply share your own native tongue - we welcome anyone curious to explore languages, cultures and traditions to come along and connect with like-minded people!
We meet at JuiceBar (26 Lower Parliament St, Nottingham NG1 3DA) every Thursday from 7pm. You can find us on the top floor which is reserved specifically for our group. Drinks are available to buy from the bar and free snacks are provided. Events are FREE to attend (and will always be).
Nervous to show up or don't know what to talk about? Many of our first-time guests show up alone and we've got you covered!
Expect to find:
- speaking games
- conversation starters
- ice-breaker activities
- friendly regulars who are always happy to socialise
- some evenings may have a dedicated theme
If it's your first time attending, please seek out one of the organisers (Christian, Bart, Kyri, Andreas, Marina, Faizan or Mahir) and we can introduce you to other people, especially speakers of any language(s) you wish to practice.
We frequently host events focusing on a country, culture or festive occasion. In the past we have celebrated Carnival, Lunar New Year, Junina, Halloween etc but we would love to do so much more! If you want to share your own culture or introduce your native language and traditions, please let us know and we will try to make it happen.
