The Aikido Association of Puerto Rico [プエルトリコ合氣會] is proud to announce a JUDO FRIENDSHIP SEMINAR hosted in Bayamón, Puerto Rico on November 23rd, 2025. The training is open to students of any martial art or rank, and from any organization or dojo. Judo instruction will be provided by Luis F. Martínez, 8th Dan.JUDO is a Japanese martial art and Olympic sport founded on the principle of "the gentle way," which involves using an opponent's strength and momentum against them. Created in 1882 by KANO Jigorō, it focuses on grappling techniques such as throws, joint locks, and chokes, and emphasizes mental discipline, respect, and physical conditioning. It does not involve striking or weapons training.
Martínez Sensei (8th Dan IJF) is the President of the Federación Puertorriqueña de Judo. This organization is the national governing body for the sport of JUDO in Puerto Rico and is a member of the International Judo Federation (IJF).
The Aikido Association of Puerto Rico's purpose is to promote the art of Aikido around the island, and to foster quality, professional Aikido instruction.
In the Spirit of BUDO friendship, we are not charging Seminar Fees in hopes of building future friendships and good will in the martial arts community in Puerto Rico.
Voluntary contributions will be accepted. Suggested donation: $20.
