This annual event is a highlight in the local calendar, this swim is the length of Penzance Promenade - fantastic for spectators and participants alike. 2025 sees a new setup - with the addition of a 'competitive race' for swimmers completing the race in under 25 minutes. 'The Original mile' is still open to all, starting from Newlyn and ending at the Jubilee Pool slipway. Registration is from 14:00 - 16:20 in the shop. Tickets must be booked online in advance.
The 'Competitive Race' starts 17:00
The 'Original Mile' starts at 17:40.
The Short Race is also available for young people aged 12-15 or those who are looking to partake in an organised sea swim but over a shorter distance.
The race is approximately half a mile in length (850 metres)
The Short Race registration opens at 14:00 in the shop.
