Welcome to our first ever Jubilee Community Dinner! This exciting new event will bring together the Jubilee Australia community to celebrate the impact we’ve made together, and raise funds to continue defending human rights and the environment in 2024 and beyond.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Emmanuel Peni, Coordinator of Project Sepik, PNG
We’re thrilled to have a rare, in-person opportunity to hear from activist leader Emmanuel Peni. Emmanuel is from Korogu on the Sepik River in Papua New Guinea. He is a passionate and eloquent visionary on the power of Indigenous expertise and his Ted Talk “The Sustainable Brilliance of Indigenous Design” has been viewed over 1 million times. After years in Port Moresby and abroad, he returned home to work with his people to defend the Sepik River system from the threat of the Frieda River Mine, a giant mining project proposed for the headwaters of the Sepik. Emmanuel will be sharing insights from the Save the Sepik campaign so far, what's at stake, and what the campaign hopes to achieve in the future.
As well as hearing from special guest Pacific activist leaders, the night will be an opportunity to share stories over good food, learn more about Jubilee, bid on auctions, and maybe even win a fantastic prize.
All funds raised will support our campaigns to put people and the planet over profit.
