Flower City Raqs brings Ju Nahid & Kenzie to Rochester/NY
Get ready for a vibrant belly dance weekend bringing together Brazilian energy and the Western NY dance community.
Directly from Brazil, Ju Nahid joins us in New York with four unique workshops ranging from Brazilian fusion styles to expressive Tarab Raqs Sharqi and energetic Saidi. Joining from Buffalo, guest teacher Kenzie brings her own artistry for a weekend full of dance, music and connection.

Belly Samba: Brazilian Fire Meets Oriental Dance - Ju Nahid
Experience the vibrant energy of Brazilian samba fused with the elegance of belly dance in this fun and dynamic workshop with Ju Nahid. Participants will learn an exciting choreography blending Brazilian rhythm, musicality, and Oriental dance movements. Dancers who join the workshop will also have the opportunity to perform the choreography at the Saturday Gala Show.

Folkloric Saidi: Cane Technique & Combinations - Ju Nahid
Discover the lively spirit of Saidi, one of the most beloved folkloric styles of Egyptian dance. In this workshop, Ju Nahid will introduce the rhythm and cultural roots of Saidi before teaching elegant and energetic cane dance combinations inspired by this traditional Arabic folk style. Perfect for dancers looking to explore musicality, technique, and folkloric expression

Tarab: Expression Beyond Technique - Ju Nahid
Explore the beauty of Tarab through technique, musical interpretation, and emotional expression. In this workshop, Ju Nahid will guide dancers through the essence and feeling behind Tarab, combining contextual understanding, movement exploration, expressive combinations, and a beautiful choreography.
7pm - Gala Show
Join us for an evening of dance, artistry and celebration, featuring performances by our guest artists and talented dancers from across the region.

Focus on the Feet - Kenzie
Our feet are the foundation of everything in dance and in life! Juicy hips, clean footwork, amazing shimmies... our connection to the floor is vital for all of these things and more! In this workshop, we will explore foot strength, pliability, and harnessing power in our dance from the ground up.
1pm - 3pm
From Shaabi to Mahraganat - Ju Nahid
Explore the evolution of modern Egyptian street dance culture in this energetic workshop with Ju Nahid. Dancers will learn the differences between old-school Shaabi and the more contemporary Mahraganat style through movement, musicality, and expression. The workshop will also include fun and dynamic combinations inspired by each style.
Performance Feedback Session Add-On
Receive personalized feedback from Ju Nahid in this limited add-on session. Dancers will perform a choreography or improvisation of up to 5 minutes, followed by individual artistic and technical feedback from Ju. Limited spots available — 20 minutes per dancer.

- Early Bird (from May 22nd to June 21st) - Full pass including workshops of Friday, Saturday and Sunday: $225.
- After June 21st, full pass $265.
- Performance Feedback Session with Ju Nahid (Add-On) - $32.
- GALA SHOW - tickets will be Available in July - $15 each.
- A LA CARTE WORKSHOPS will be availabe in July.
