Celebrate Earth Day with a gift that grows!The library is proud to be an official distribution site for Neighborhood Forest, a national nonprofit that provides free tree seedlings to children to inspire environmental stewardship and joy. Families are invited to register their child to receive a free tree, which will be picked up at the library on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Registered families will receive reminder emails with pickup details.
Important Registration Information
To receive a free seedling tree, registration through Neighborhood Forest is required by Sunday, March 15. While the Neighborhood Forest website may include options to purchase or donate, no purchase is required. One free tree is available per child (ages 0–18).

Click "Register My Child for a Free Tree"
Add each child and age/grade. Leave the teacher's name empty.
Scroll to the bottom and hit "Next" at the bottom of each screen until you come to the "Contact Information" screen.
Fill in the contact information, agree to plant the tree, and click "Submit." You'll receive a confirmation email from Neighborhood Forests.
Tree Pickup Details
Trees must be picked up on Wednesday, April 22, between 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., on the Children’s Library Patio at LINC.
Any trees not claimed by 6:30 p.m. will be made available to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

Pasos para completar el registro:

Haga clic en “Register My Child for a Free Tree” (Registrar a mi hijo/a para un árbol gratuito).
Agregue a cada niño/a e indique su edad o grado. Deje el nombre del maestro/a en blanco.
Desplácese hasta abajo y haga clic en “Next” (Siguiente) en cada pantalla hasta llegar a la sección de “Contact Information” (Información de contacto).
Complete la información de contacto, acepte plantar el árbol y haga clic en “Submit” (Enviar).
Recibirá un correo electrónico de confirmación de Neighborhood Forest.
Detalles para la recogida del árbol
Los árboles deben recogerse el miércoles 22 de abril, entre las 4:00 p.m. y las 6:30 p.m., en el Patio de la Biblioteca Infantil de LINC.
Cualquier árbol que no sea reclamado antes de las 6:30 p.m. se pondrá a disposición del público en general por orden de llegada, hasta agotar existencias
