Joshua Burkett is a legendary figure of DIY music and art, having been making singular home-made psych/folk-influenced solo recordings since the 1990s. Before that he played in New England free/psych units Vermonster and Bimbo Shrineheads, and into the 90s and beyond was an occasional member of Sunburned Hand of the Man and Tower Recordings.
His 2001 record Gold Cosmos featured contributions from e.g. Ben Chasny and Chris Corsano, and was celebrated as one of the key documents of the 'free folk' era. Since then his music has been released by labels such as Spirit of Orr, Time-Lag, Ultra Eczema, Feeding Tube, and his own Feather One's Nest and Mystra Records. His collaborations include a duo record with Tucker Zimmerman and a recent one-sided LP with Lau Nau. By day he co-runs Mystery Train Records in Amherst, Massachusetts.
This will be his first ever show in Sweden.
