Drawing from the melting pot of blues, roots, folk, and rock, Joshua Batten is a genuine performer with a rare ability to truly connect with his audience. Based on his own insights from living with neurodiversity, his original songs offer authentic reflections of introspective moments, humbly presented as universally relatable experiences. His songs combine passionate vocals, accomplished guitar playing, layered arrangements, and inspirational lyrics to create musical journeys. Over the course of his career, Joshua has released three studio albums and become a favourite at festivals across Australia.
Backed by bassist Zhang Ling and drummer Jeremy Li, The Lablighters’ repertoire draws from Batten’s vast catalogue of finely-crafted original songs, as well as blues/rock classics that have stood the test of time.
