This event is a fundraiser for my brother, Josh who is 44 and an amazing father/step father to 4 children and is an extended family care taker for another person. He is also a devoted husband, brother, son and uncle.Josh found out in June that he had a brain mass. He has had surgery, and we found out the tumor was a very rare and aggressive form of glioblastoma. He has been through a round of chemo & radiation and is going through another round of chemo. There are mounting medical bills and other expenses and Josh doesn’t receive paid time off.
This has all come as a complete shock to their family and our extended family.
Josh is such an impassioned person who cares so much about his own health and others, his life is devoted to working and caring for people who have different needs and caring for his community at large. When he hits a wall he finds a solution. He has worked in human services at DD group homes for over 15 years and has successfully found ways to help people communicate better and ways to provide more stable and relevant care, and has brought knowledge and research that has completely improved people’s quality of life and is now caring for someone in his home. We are so proud of Josh and love him so much, he still continues to be committed to his health and finding the best options for himself and learning as much as he can.
With this type of news it can also be a struggle to continue to feel motivated and encouraged and supported, if you aren’t able to come or in a place financially to bid on something at this event I encourage you to share this and invite people. If you can help out even just a little it would be so helpful. If you know Josh and want to reach out, please do, but know that he may not respond right away or at all, as this is so overwhelming, it will mean a lot either way. Please also do not reach out on Facebook messenger because Josh does not have it.
As the time grows closer I’ll be sharing more info about the event and sharing items that will be available as well as people and businesses that are participating, keep an eye out and save the date!
