This year's theme is "Bears Run Wild!"The Move-a-Thon will take place on Friday, October 4. Each grade will have a 20-minute slot during the day to meet in the yard and complete a course around the schoolyard with various exercise activities and obstacles. The various exercise activities are designed to be more fun than strenuous to get everyone moving!
Fundraising supports the science program, art program, academic support, classroom supplies, teacher support & enrichment, community outreach, school greening, and much, much more.
Let's work together to support our kids and our community through a great fundraiser to help keep JOES such a special school. The goal is to raise $100 per student and reach (or exceed) the school-wide goal of $40,000! We can do this!

How to participate and what to expect:
RAISE FUNDS
- Register on http://pledgestar.com/joseortega and create a pledge page. The fundraising period is NOW until the event. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes!

VOLUNTEER
You can volunteer for the event by contacting your room parent or teacher.
(Help children change into their Move-a-thon shirts, help them move through the obstacle course , cheer from the sidelines, do it with them for a little bit, redirect if needed, distribute snacks and water)

MOVE-A-THON DAY OF EVENT DETAILS
Each grade will have a 20-minute slot to go through the course from station to station in a circular track around the school yard. Below is the schedule for your grade.

- CHECK - select 'Check' when making your donation on PledgeStar. It will give you a tracking number to add to the info line on your check. You can mail the check to the below address or give it to your teacher and the Move-A-Thon team can process it for you.
- CASH - please place cash in an envelope with your student's name and give it to your teacher.
