Jointer & Planer: Basic Use and Safety (BUS)

Saturday, June 20th: 2-4pm
Members $125 // Non-members $150
In this Basic Use and Safety workshop, students will learn how to safely set up and use the pair of machines needed for milling lumber foursquare: the jointer & planer. We will cover machine set up and ergonomic best practices for working with solid wood.
Completion of this single 2hr class certifies students to use equipment independently as a member or a non-member on a day pass (at the instructor's discretion).
REQUIREMENTS
Students must come to class with appropriate attire, which includes closed-toe shoes, long pants, and hair tied back. MakerSpace NYC will provide safety glasses and ear protection. Open to all, ages 18+
REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS:
Class size limited to 4 students. Minimum 2 students. We reserve the right to cancel the class if we do not have the minimum amount of students. If we cancel, we will refund you and notify you. You may cancel and get a refund up to seven days before the class. After that, refunds are contingent on us being able to fill your seat. Under no circumstances do we offer refunds to individuals who cancel on the same day. Please note, Eventbrite fees are non-refundable if you cancel.
