About this Event
CALLING ALL FOOD SECURITY ADVOCATES!
TAKE ACTION: Join Food Bank For New York City, City Harvest, United Way of New York City, The Roundtable Allies for Food Access, The NYC Food Policy Alliance, Hunger Free NYC and anti-hunger advocates from across the city in urging Mayor Mamdani and the NYC Council to fund Community Food Connection (CFC) at $100M and fight for a food secure New York City!
New Yorkers face an affordability crisis and record high food prices. Food pantries and soup kitchens are experiencing demand up to 80% higher than pre-pandemic levels, and federal resources and safety net programs are on the chopping block of budget negotiations. Weβre gathering on the steps of City Hall to ask our City leaders to fund CFC at $100M in the next budget.
Advocates, direct service providers and New Yorkers who support strengthening food security for all will rally on the steps of City Hall to call on the Mayor and City Council to fund the Community Food Connection (CFC) program at $100M in the next budget, to increase support for food pantries and soup kitchens who are on the frontlines in the fight against hunger.
Every organization should bring their own signs and swag. Please do not bring any poles or sticks for signs, amplified sound, nor anything that is not allowed through metal detectors at City Hall.
