About this Event
Enjoy this colourful presentation and discover the origin of an annual event and customs associated with the feast of Pentecost, when the King’s cavalcade and his entourage processes through four Moravian villages wearing traditional costumes and riding decorated horses. The festival has survived for hundreds of years, including two world wars and communism; it was added to UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage in 2011.
Ben Meyer is an Australian/American published documentary photographer who has been living in the Czech Republic for the past seven years. During the festival he stayed with members of the King’s entourage and was ‘exposed to an incredibly rich and proud Czech folklore culture’.
