About Carnaval Classes
Join the Sambaxé Contingent for the 46th annual SF Carnaval Parade. All levels welcome. You are also welcome to join the classes even if not participating in the parade.
Sambaxé is a Brazilian inspired dance company (#1 in Brazilian category in 2022 and 2023!) It is an inclusive and welcoming community of dancers. We offer a safe space to learn and experience brazilian culture through movement, music and dance. We will be learning and practicing several styles of Brazilian dance including afro-samba, frevo and samba no pé.
Samba with Raffaella Falchi Macias- Engage your mind, body & spirit while learning the fundamentals of several Brazilian styles of dance and rhythms. The choreography is broken down step by step. This class will focus on learning Samba in a fun and safe environment. Absolute beginners are welcome.

Rehearsal Details:
We will be rehearsing on Saturdays 11:30 am-1pm indoors in a gym until March 30 at
741 South Van Ness Ave.
April 6- May 18 we will be rehearsing outdoors at the Balboa Park basketball courts at 51 Havelock St.
Wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move in and supportive shoes suitable for moving on concrete. Bring water, wear sunscreen (the areas we'll be dancing in do not have shade) and your sense of joy and connection.
