DOORS 7PM
BLOW GLOBE, winner of the Chamber Music America New Jazz Works Grant 2024, is a thirteen person ensemble that melds the sonorities of instrumental jazz and classical with the ethos of contemporary electronic and songwriter musics. Led by Juilliard-trained drummer and composer John Sturino, the band features a unique 6-horn instrumentation that packs the breadth of an entire wind orchestra into a tight ten-person unit. The ensemble will release their eponymous debut album on June 6th, 2025, on the Outside In Music label.
Comprising of core members from around the world and brought together by the NYC jazz scene, BLOW GLOBE and its music draw from the vast expanse of sounds across time, culture, and region. The ambitious compositions paired with the profound solo voices create a robust, unique, and cohesive ensemble sound. The band also features the tender and velvet voice of Spanish singer Mar Vilaseca.
