John Spillane
Is ceoltóir, cumadóir amhrán, taibheoir, ealaíontóir taifeadta, scéalaí, file agus brionglóidí é John Spillane. Tá sé fréamhaithe i ndaoine, áit agus scéal, agus iompraíonn a cheol an t-éisteoir agus meallann a léirithe beo lucht féachana ar fud an domhain.

Mar ealaíontóir, meallann a cheol éisteoirí ó go leor seánraí agus glúnta. Tá cáilíocht uathúil beagnach sean-nóis ag baint lena stíl ghutha agus lonraíonn a léirithe leis an réalachas draíochta atá fite fuaite le go leor dá amhráin agus é ag scinneadh gan stró idir filíocht álainn, ina bhfuil oiread na fríde den bhrón, agus greann rógánta easurramach. Tá John ábalta daoine a mhealladh lán chomh maith is atá sé in ann iad a chur faoi dhraíocht agus siamsa a dhéanamh daofa.

Chomhroinn John Spillane a shaothar is uaillmhianaí go dtí seo, Fíoruisce – Finscéal an Locha, DéAoine an 13 Meán Fómhair 2024. Ar an albam téama tá John i gcuideachta foireann ar dóigh de lucht comhoibre: Ríoghnach Connolly, Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, Niamh Farrell, Nell Ní Chróinín, agus tuilleadh, agus ainmníodh é ina dhiaidh sin mar albam na bliana ag Gradaim Ceoil Tíre RTÉ. le teacht

John Spillane is a musician, songwriter, performer, recording artist, storyteller, poet and dreamer. Rooted in people, place and story, his music transports the listener and his live performances captivate audiences around the world.

As an artist his music appeals to listeners across many genres and generations. His vocal style has a unique almost sean-nós like quality and his performances shimmer with the magic realism that permeates many of his songs as he effortlessly flits between beautiful poetry tinged with melancholy to roguish, irreverent humour. John has the ability to charm, mesmerise and entertain in equal measure.

John Spillane shared his most artistically ambitious work to date, Fíoruisce – The Legend of the Lough, on Friday 13th September 2024. The concept album features John alongside a stellar cast of collaborators: Ríoghnach Connolly, Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, Niamh Farrell, Nell Ní Chróinín, and more and has gone on to be named as album of the year at the RTÉ Folk Awards.
LARAbEL
Le linn a cuid ama sa choláiste in BIMM, bhuscáil LARAbEL ar shráideanna Bhaile Átha Cliath agus sheinn sí in ionaid ar fud na hÉireann. Ó shin tá sí i ndiadh taibhiú ag cuid de na féilte is mó in Éirinn agus sa Ríocht Aontaithe, lena n-áirítear an Phicnic Leictreach, All Together Now agus Glastonbury. Thacaigh sí le healaíontóirí cosúil le David Keenan, Roisin O agus Glasshouse, dhíol sí amach seónna móra agus sheinn sí in ionaid cosúil le Whelan’s agus Amharclann Olympia.

I ndiadh di conradh a shíniú leis an lipéad ceoil neamhspleách Éireannach Beo Records ag tús 2025, d’eisigh LARAbEL a céad tionscadal Squiggle, ceirnín leathfhada cúig rian le fuaim uathúil neamhthréitheach, Éireannach-indie. Tá an ceirnín leathfhada fite fuaite le dorchadas agus súgradh agus pléann sé ábhair phearsanta deacra. Tugann Moya Brennan ó Chlannad a guth corraitheach ar Pigeon Song. Is as Gaoth Dobhair, ceantar beag Gaeltachtai nDún na nGall, do Larabel, agus tá tionchar ag na tírdhreacha garbha agus fréamhacha na Gaeilge a bhí timpeall uirthi agus í ag fás aníos. Is féidir é seo a chluinstin fríd an cheirnín leathfhada.

During her time at college in BIMM, LARAbEL busked on the streets of Dublin and played venues all across Ireland. Since then she has gone on to perform at some of the biggest festivals in Ireland and the UK , including Electric Picnic, All Together Now and Glastonbury. She has supported artists like David Keenan, Roisin O and Glasshouse, has sold out headline shows and played venues like Whelan’s and The Olympia Theatre.

Having signed to independent Irish record label Beo Records at the beginning of 2025, LARAbEL released her debut project Squiggle, a five track EP with a unique ethereal, Irish-indie sound. The EP is intertwined with darkness and playfulness and tackles tough personal topics. Clannad’s Moya Brennan lends her haunting vocals on Pigeon Song. Hailing from Gaoth Dobhair a small Gaeltacht area in Donegal, Larabel is influenced by the rugged landscapes and roots to the Irish language that has surrounded her growing up. This can be heard throughout the EP.
