John Kirkpatrick (www.johnkirkpatrick.co.uk) is a superb singer, great writer of songs & tunes, fine dancer & the best English squeezer bar none. One of the great solo acts on the folk scene, he has played with the Albions, Steeleye Span, Brass Monkey, Band of Hope & many more. Since 2018, in his home town of Bishop’s Castle, John has been running a community carol singing session, initially based on what they do around Sheffield, but increasingly including Shropshire carols old & new, in glorious four-part harmony. This is a chance to sing your socks off & explore a different strand of this ever-popular repertoire. Teaching will be by ear but dots will be available for people who find them helpful.
