In May, the New East team will travel to Portugal for a learning mobility focused on media literacy, digital safety, and practical approaches to tackling disinformation.During the visit, we will get to know the work of the host organisation, observe its methods in practice, exchange experience, and explore approaches that help people navigate today’s information environment more critically and confidently. Our focus is not on abstract discussions, but on practical tools: how to recognise manipulation, how fact-checking works in real contexts, and how to speak about digital safety in ways that are clear, relevant, and accessible for different audiences.
For New East, this mobility is an opportunity to strengthen our own practices and bring back knowledge that can later be used in our educational and cultural work in Latvia.
Follow the journey – we will be sharing impressions, reflections, and useful insights along the way.
