We are thrilled to have the incredible Jo Hoffberg in our neck of the woods to share her depth of knowledge with us during this workshop weekend! There will be a combination of solo movement and partnered classes throughout the weekend, taught with the extraordinary Anthony Chen.All of the classes will be “All Levels” open to intermediate to advanced+ dancers. However, newer dancers are more than welcome to join IF they are "brave beginners" who are willing to keep a student mindset and "stay curious" even if the material feels out of reach.

🔸 Saturday
10-12:30 Class 1: Foundations of Jazz
From walking to flashy moves, this class will show you how to build up a jazz step through improvisation. By the end of this class, you'll be comfortable playing with several classic jazz steps by using isolations, rhythms, and accents. The class ideas are simple to understand, and will be as challenging as you make them :D
12:30-1:30: Lunch Break
1:30-4 Class 2: Lindy Hop - Replacing Rhythms
In this class, we'll train our rhythm first as an individual dancer, and then we'll see how this works within the partnership. The class will get more challenging as it progresses, so it's important dancers work where they are comfortable.
8-12am: Social Dance!

11-1:30 Class 3: Foundations of Charleston
All things that kick!!
1:30-2:30: Lunch Break
2:30-5 Class 4: Lindy Hop - Phrasing
Whether you're competing, going into a gym, or creating a social dance, the music is the roadmap. In this class, we will focus on phrasing our ideas, creating phrase enders, and finding inspiration from others.
5:30pm: Join us for boba hangouts at the Salt Lake Chinatown!

Full weekend pass - 10 hours of instruction; includes Saturday dance
