About this Event

Need a place for the one ring to rule them all? …or many rings? Come make a worthy ring holder! This 3-hour instructor led class will cover the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel. With all materials included, participants can expect to make 1 ring holder which they can then choose a color for, so staff may glaze them. This is a great class for those wanting to try their hand at the wheel or rediscover a past passion for clay. Finished artwork can be picked up 2-3 weeks after the class for your gold and silver ring of power display needs!

Get ready for 3 full hours of creative fun with clay!

In this 10-part pop-up series, adults and teens 12 years and up, of any skill level, are invited to participate in one of our 3-hour, instructor-led classes covering the foundations of working with clay. Themed projects will vary from week to week and may be wheel or hand-building based. Students may enroll in one themed class at a time or may enroll in multiple individual classes. Completed projects are fired and glazed by staff with your choice of color and are usually ready for pick up in 2-3 weeks.

Rules and conditions:

Due to the format of these single drop-in classes, open studio in ceramics is not included. However, each class length is 3 hours providing ample time to learn, make, and still have time to clean up. All materials are included. There are no refunds once a class has been taken. Please be aware, results of final products may vary depending on clay, glazes, and temperatures. Glaze defects, cracks and breaks are a part of the process in ceramics. These are things every clay artist deals with. Our staff puts time and energy into finishing your artwork and to assure the best outcome, however not all elements can be controlled in the ceramic process.

Students are responsible for ensuring that their artwork is picked up within 2 weeks of notification by email) from VAI that it is ready. If a student does not leave contact information, VAI will have no way to send notification of when finished artwork is ready. If artwork is not picked up within 1 month of the initial notification, it will be considered abandoned and may be thrown away.

VAI students holding flex passes may sign up as space allows and are asked to pay an additional materials fee of $12.50 Referral and other discounts do not apply to single drop-in classes.

*Any students holding VAI flex passes please contact the VAI office to reserve your spot.
