About this Event
Velvet voiced singer, Jo Harrop returns to St Marys with her incredible band, pinaist/composer, Paul Edis, ace bassist Jihad Darwish, and this time around, featuring stellar guitarist, Artie Zaitz from The Banger Factory and Blues Shaker.
After their album When Winter Turns To Spring, won best album 2023 in The Parliamentary Jazz Awards, Jo and Paul have been busy writing songs for Jo’s next record of original music. They will be performing songs from across all of their works, from Weathering The Storm & The Heart Wants, as well as finely arranged jazz standards.
"Jo does not just sing a song, she lives and breathes it; she believes in what she is singing and that belief is transferred to the musicians around her which, in turn, creates something quite magical.” Simply Jazz Talk
“Jo Harrop is a very fine jazz singer… a superb and unimaginably good vocalist ”. — Iggy Pop, BBC Radio 6 Music
