Three Chhau dance forms, one stage: experience Seraikela, Kharsawan, and Manbhum Chhau at the Jharkhand Festival in DakshinaChitra Heritage Museum .Seraikela Chhau: Known for its intricately crafted small masks, the tradition tells stories where every emotion is conveyed through movement, echoing the Navarasas of the Natya Shastra.
Kharsawan Chhau: A form where it replaces mask with painted face & body, and dramatic martial art imbibed choreography. It follows Mayurbhanj Chhau style and adds tribal dance to it.
Manbhum Chhau (aka, Purulia Chhau): With its striking big masks, vibrant costumes, and powerful martial art imbibed acrobatic dance steps, this form draws on mythology and folk traditions.
