About this Event
Join us for a soul-nurturing experience with fine artist and independent researcher Zola Dube (@zoladube.isintu) as we explore the ancient art of Ubuhlalu—a practice whose very name means “that which keeps me grounded.”
In this intimate workshop at The 7 Space, beadwork becomes a meditative practice through doing—an invitation to slow down, work with your hands, and find presence in each movement. Under Zola’s guidance, you’ll create meaningful jewelry while being gently guided through the cultural traditions and stories rooted in Southern African beadwork.
As both facilitator and featured artist, Zola is deeply committed to nurturing and preserving ancestral knowledge. She brings care, depth, and intention to this experience—offering not just instruction, but connection to the history, symbolism, and meaning behind the practice. Zola is of the Zulu Kingdom, her ancestors are from KwaDukuza, KwaZulu Natal.
Together, we’ll gather in a spirit of community, creativity, and shared learning—honoring the past while creating something beautiful in the present.
Limited spaces available.
