JEST Improv's signature Youth Summer Comedy Program is back to bring the wonder of improv comedy to the youth of Ventura County! This will be a great environment for young people who are looking to explore their comedic voice/comedy acting and/or looking to spend time laughing and creating with new friends. These programs are structured for ages 8-17.
Program participants will explore the fundamentals of improv as taught by the JEST Improv Comedy School and develop skills like creative thinking, self-confidence, listening, getting out of your head, team building, empathy, handling anxiety and communication, all while having loads of fun! They’re introduced to basic improv games, the art of creating a story as a group and creating fun characters on stage.
This program will take place on July 29th, 31st, August 2nd, 5th, 7th and 9th with a showcase on August 9th. Each session will be from 10am-2pm. Deadline to sign up for this program is July 22nd. There will be multiple breaks throughout each class with a 30 minute lunch break. Concessions/beverages will be available for the students.
The entire cost of the program will be $250. Your payment of $25 will go towards this cost and you will be responsible for paying the rest of the amount at the door on the first day of class ($225)
