Hopie Jo:
Hopie Jo is a gender-fluid singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with over
a decade of experience performing music around the US Midwest and Pacific
Northwest. Named appropriately for their fun and quirky stage presence, Hopie’s
music is expressive, whimsical, and playful with streaks of sadness and deep
vulnerability. With nature-focused themes and emotive lyrics, Hopie invites
themselves and us all on the journey toward self-acceptance and self-love. Her
more recent work has been described by friends as meditative and spacious,
allowing the listener to step into the present moment. You will find this guy
crooning right into your heart!
Jessica Wolfbird:
Jessica Wolfbird (f.k.a. Jessica in The Rainbow / Jessica Fogle) writes existential dream folk songs for the heart & soul. She is a conservatory-trained pianist, with a deep love of songwriting adventures, a.k.a. traveling + writing songs on ukulele, thumb piano, and mini Casio. Many of her songs begin on ukulele before being adapted to piano for performances and studio albums. You can hear her work in movies like Were the World Mine, and a Cheetos commercial. Her current song count is over 10,000 as she has been writing hundreds of songs per year since 2008 (+dozens per year since early childhood). She holds an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU and a BA in Music (Piano Performance) & Dramatic Literature from Lawrence University & Conservatory of Music. Her songs sound like gentle dreams and wild storms, and everything in between. She lives with her husband Bryan and dog Scout Wolfbird Jr. in St. Joseph, Michigan – and loves vegan food, kayaking, and teaching virtual creative piano lessons to all ages.
Wilburn:
Wilburn is a singer songwriter from Kalamazoo who recently returned home after 4 years in Portland, Oregon, where he spent time honing in on his writing style as well as recording a yet unreleased EP. The material on this EP can be described as soft and quick-changing indie with moments of intense introspection as well as swells of nervousness and country-tinged heartache. With influences from lyricists like Elliott Smith and Townes Van Zandt to the more expansive sonic constructions of Spirit of the Beehive and Ana Roxanne, the through line in all of Wilburn’s music is the thoughtfulness and care put into the writing process.
