Jermaine Jackson is committed to the work of equity, diversity & inclusion / Anti-Racism work. He is a founding member of the Kalamazoo Public Library Anti-Racism Transformation Team, serving eight years.

Mr. Jackson has also been a lead organizer on many local efforts, including
**PUSHOUT: The criminalization of black girls in public school system
**A fund raiser for Tianna Carruthers, the only survivor of the Kalamazoo Uber shooting
**A fund raiser concert for the Save the Frederick Douglas Community Association
**The Black Lives Matter mural on South Rose St in downtown Kalamazoo.

One of Mr. Jacksonʻs most recent projects is a curated exhibit about his aunt Henrietta Lacks and her miracle cells. This exhibit was developed in 2014 and converted into a traveling mobile Museum in 2019. Due to the pandemic, it has now been converted to a virtual platform. However, a portion of Mr. Jackson’s exhibit is currently on display at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum until the end of February.
