Known for her underground notoriety in Toronto, JER seamlessly blends styles ranging from tropical bass and psychedelic kicks to exotic snares. Influenced by her roots in Brazil and her life in Canada, JER’s sets are characterized by eclectic mash-ups with a distinct tropical indie flavor.
DJ and experimental artist Sonic Griot brings her unique pan-African upbringing to life through her work and performances. Known for curating vibes with African electronic dance music, she captivates audiences with her eclectic aesthetic, love of dance, and deep connection to her fans. As one of the three members of @afriquelikeme she helped create the Eko Electronic genre and produces Toronto’s largest African electronic dance music party.
Kika jumped feet first into Toronto’s electronic music scene in 2016 and quickly became an avid supporter of Toronto’s underground and local electronic music community. After immersing herself in a variety of music genres on many dance floors, her curiosity about the transportive power of music led her to move behind the decks. As a resident DJ with Architextures in 2020, she honed her own high-octane blend of bouncy minimal, house, techno, dance and electro. You can find her collaborating with the collective Lossless and spinning techno with the recently launched crew, Technoir Collective.
