I am very excited about this year's Joyful Plant Sale. The past two years, I have been getting heirloom seeds which have been just okay. After speaking to my very wise mom from the farm, I learned that heirlooms are "cute" but not hardy and don't produce like seeds that are made to survive. So this year, on the suggestion of a friend, I have gotten seeds from Johnny's Seeds that sells organic and hybrid seeds (as well as heirloom). I did research on blight-resistant, mildew-resistant, and good producing plants. I cannot wait to see this year's production! The Joyful Plant Sale started because of seasonal affective depression, and this year, due to unemployment, this year I really need to get my hands in the soil.
I will be sharing what's growing over the next few weeks.
