About this Event

Amazon Reviews -

'I think this memoir, and its predecessor, give a fascinating and valuable social commentary on a time when the ‘ old order ‘ was changing and new horizons were just coming into view.'

'I really enjoyed reading this book, and learning how to inspire people to appreciate that there is so much more to eating good food than just filling your tummy.'

'I was born at the beginning of the 70’s, but lots of this book took me straight back to those years and what being a kid was then. Loved humour and dry wit in these books.'

Did you eat Salad Cream or Mayonnaise?

Why did we eat more margarine than butter in the 1970s?

When was Angel Delight invented?

Why did we eat more white pepper than black?

Do you remember the 3 day week and blackouts in 1974?

Jenny has been a Food Teacher and lecturer since 1970s. She has written many books, including I taught them to Cook and Cream Horns and Vol au Vents - about her early teaching in east London schools. She describes this experience like Call the Midwife - changing times and challenges.
