Meet writer & walker Jennifer Andrewes in THE ONLY WAY IS UP - the author's first Wairarapa appearance.Jennifer will be in conversation with Philippa Tucker about her 2,400+ km pilgrimage from Canterbury to Rome — a journey of strength, solitude and self-discovery.
Determined to slow the progression of early-onset Parkinson’s, Jennifer set out from Canterbury along the historic Via Francigena trail across Europe, meeting fellow pilgrims, navigating challenges, and learning to trust the path ahead. Her story, captured in her new memoir The Only Way is Up, shows how walking can offer practical lessons for living well: building resilience, finding meaning, and moving forward — one step at a time.
Jennifer has authored two previous books: Parallel Lives, and A Will and a Way. Philippa is a Carterton-based editor, writer, Wairarapa Word Committee Member, deputy editor of Shepherdess magazine and board member and copyeditor of takahe magazine.
Jennifer will be happy to sign copies of her books.
Parkinson’s Wairarapa will provide information on the day about their services.
