Textures breathe life into paintings—they make your work feel more dynamic, create a sense of depth, and invite viewers to connect emotionally. They also free you from painting every tiny detail, because texture often does the work for you—making marks your hand could never make, in ways that feel fresh and unexpected.
In this workshop, you’ll explore textures using the water media of your choice—acrylic, watercolor, acrylic ink, or gouache. We’ll experiment with professional texturing mediums as well as simple, surprising household materials. All texturing materials and applicators are provided. Expect to create 4-6 starts and 1-2 finished paintings over the three sessions.
