Come join us to hear Dr. Sandra Boham, President of Salish Kootenai College speak at the Annual Jeannette Rankin Legacy Lecture. She has spent her career as an educator, a social justice advocate (like Jeannette Rankin), and a stellar leader in American Indian higher education. Under Dr. Boham’s leadership, Salish Kootenai College notably has the highest graduation rate of any tribal college or university in the country at 62%. The U.S. Tribal College average graduation rate is 21%.On Jeannette Rankin’s last visit to Athens before she passed away, she shared with Rankin Foundation Founder Reita Rivers that she wished she had done more to advocate for Native Americans. The Rankin Foundation recently piloted a partnership with the Montana Tribal Colleges. That project has now blossomed into a National Tribal Project. We believe that Jeannette would be very happy to see this expansion of her legacy.
