Jeanette Berry Live at Groove | Thursday, April 24th | 6PM Doors, 7PM Show
For her debut at GROOVE, Jeanette will bring soul and jazz together with Jazz Standards and Originals in the Black American Music tradition with her band.
Jeanette Berry is a vocalist and a writer lending her voice and pen to music, podcasting, poetry writing, education, and cultural critique. As a vocalist, she has toured with Ms. Lauryn Hill singing background, performed with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops, worked her way down the East Coast with her band, Jeanette Berry and the Soul Nerds, and recorded with some of New York’s finest hip hop and jazz talents. She has released five independent projects, including the EP “Peace, Love, and Music” and EP Solivagant, and three full-length albums, “Allegiance to Love,” Life Feels Better by the Water, and 2024’s Intersections. As an educator, she’s worked with young people from kindergarten to College, asking “why?” to deepen their intellectual engagement with all art forms, especially music. She is a member of the Music Workers Alliance (MWA), Jazz Education Network (JEN), and AAJC(African American Jazz Caucus). Jeanette currently resides in Bethesda, MD.
