Jean Carla Rodea with Splinter Reeds: Brume
Brume is an immersive multimedia performance developed by Jean Carla Rodea during their residency at the Dresher Ensemble Studio. The work will be presented on Friday, August 15 at Dresher Ensemble Studio (2201 Poplar St., Oakland), alongside other works composed for Splinter Reeds by Zachary James Watkins and Karola Obermüller.
Inspired by the breath in all its forms—from intimate exhalations to the fog drifting across the Marin Headlands—Brume explores air as both a bodily presence and an environmental force. Through spatialized sound, light, and video, the piece transforms the performance space into a resonant, living ecosystem.
