Launched in 2023 in a partnership with Youthsayers the free Jazz Reggae Afrobeat course encouraged young musicians to develop their live music playing alongside professionals.

In 2024 The Jazzrobeat Collective was created by the dedicated group of participants with support from CultureMix tutors Jamie and Ruel for live performances at Carnival of the World and Readipop Festival.

For 2025 the group developed a repertoire for the first live studio recordings and performances for the Berkshire Music Hub M Power showcase at the Face Bar and again at Carnival of the World.

To join the 2026 Spring course you will have some experience of playing a musical instrument so you can improve by playing in a band. The focus is on Afro Jazz, Funk and Reggae genres to develop and build up your music skills.

You are required to bring your own instruments like horns or guitars as CultureMix Arts has limited instruments available including a keyboard and drum kit.

Classes are during term time only and you can book anytime.
