Ihr Cello wird zum Resonanzkörper für Stimme, Körper und Raum – mal zart und zerbrechlich, mal kraftvoll und eruptiv.

Der Wahlberliner Dudù Kouate schöpft aus den Klangwelten westafrikanischer Traditionen. Mit Trommeln, Idiophonen und Instrumenten aus recycelten Materialien entfaltet er facettenreiche Rhythmen und Geschichten, die Natur, Kultur und seine Wurzeln kunstvoll verweben. Kein Konzert im klassischen Sinne – sondern eine Reise, die Körper und Sinne gleichermaßen in Bewegung versetzt.

Now a Berliner by choice, Dudù Kouate draws from the soundscapes of West African traditions. With drums, idiophones, and instruments made from recycled materials, he unfolds multifaceted rhythms and stories that weave together nature, culture, and his roots.

Holding on to Wonder erzählt die Geschichte zweier Künstlerinnen, Pen und Bee, die in einen musikalischen Dialog über Inspiration, Zweifel, Freundschaft und das Entstehen neuer Ideen treten. Unter der Leitung von Sembritzki entfaltet das Orchester ein Klanguniversum, das zwischen Intimität und Überschwang, Struktur und Improvisation, Leichtigkeit und Intensität changiert – so facettenreich wie das Künstler*innenleben selbst: voller Humor, Dramatik, Melancholie und einem überwältigenden Sinn für Schönheit.

Holding on to Wonder tells the story of two artists, Pen and Bee, who engage in a musical dialogue about inspiration, doubt, friendship, and the act of creating new ideas. Under Sembritzki’s direction, the orchestra opens up a sonic universe that moves between intimacy and exuberance, structure and improvisation, lightness and intensity – as multifaceted as the artistic life itself: full of humor, drama, melancholy, and an overwhelming sense of beauty.
