Formed in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Pope of Dope has been delivering a message of peace, love, and "gettin' down on the dance floor" for over 20 years. They've led Kansas City audiences on a journey from Uptown New Orleans to the heart of the Crescent City, playing New Orleans funk, brass band music, funk from the space age, and more – always for your pleasure. Some of Kansas City's and New Orleans' finest musicians have been featured in the band over the years, including Leigh “Little Queenie” Harris, Loren Pickford, Hermon Mehari, Matt Carrillo, Brandon Draper, Wayne Hawkins, Greg Meise, John Brewer and Paul Roberts.
Catch a rare glimpse of the fun and mayhem that occurs every year during Kansas City Mardi Gras.
